Default Hello from the south of Germany

    Hello,

I am new in playing blues guitar and new to this forum.
Living in the south of Germany I gambled around with my classic guitar when I was young.
Playing guitar of an on I played tenor sax for about 20 Years.
Now I am 54 years old, stopped playing saxophone and came back to the guitar.
My wish is playing the blues, maybe a little bit jazz in the future.
From now on my equipment is as follows:
    JSM10_Katana50.jpg
    An Ibanez JSM10-VYS John Scofield
together with a Boss Katana 50.
The Ibanez is a wonderfull guitar for me. Fits perfect with beautiful sound.
The Boss is a versatile combo for playing at home.
    I love both.
It is so much fun to play with it.

So I hope to develop my old skills and step forward for being a blues player.

Thank you for this wonderful forum.

    Markus

Hi, Markus, welcome to Blues Talk. I am guessing you are a fan of John Scofield and his playing? I consider him a very interesting stylist with a remarkable tone and outfit. The album A-Go-Go is probably my favorite, but all of his recordings have something good going on.
    Regards,
    F. D.

Welcome, Markus! So glad to have a German in this international group...it's been a long while since we had a representative from Germany. Where I know Blues and Blues Rock have a strong following.

You may know the people at Lupo's Rock Shop in Stuttgart...they make the Benzville guitars? They were my go-to techs when I worked in Stuttgart. Which is the extent of my familiarity except that I visited Heidelberg, Mannheim & Cherbourg.

So what Blues you listenin to lately, Markus.

Default Thank you for the welcome

    at Hwy80:
Scofield is fantastic. I discoverd his music not long ago but I am deeply impressed by his plaing.
I am going to listen his albums ...
But I also like Al Di Meola, especially the Album: "Friday Night at San Francisco" which turns often
on my record player since the 80's.

    at BluesHawk:
I wonder that there are so less guys form Germany!
Maybe it depends on the age? Younger people often neglect the Blues :-(
It is the first time I've heard from Lupo's Rock Shop. I think it is because I am very new in the field of electric guitars,
currently concentrating on hollow-/semi-hollowbodies. I love my JSM10.
As I mentioned, my main instrument was the saxophone for the last 20 years ... mainly Soul and Jazz.
    Did you work in Stuttgart?
I listen to different styles of Blues, from Clapton to John Lee Hooker.
Fascinated from the variety of Blues I hope to get into it quickly,
starting with a teacher last week, not really knowing where this journey will lead me to.
